Yoga Class Descriptions
Move & Flow Hatha Yoga
Move & Flow Hatha Yoga classes are based around Suryanamaskar (the Sun Salutation) and include standing, balancing, seated, and lying down asanas. In addition to the active asana and practices, every Hatha Yoga class usually includes the practice of mantra, mudra, meditation, and deep relaxation in savasana.
To attend this class, you must be able to comfortably complete a sun salutation. The use of the wall, chair, and other modifications is always welcome and available.
Restorative Yoga and Meditation
Restorative Yoga and Meditation is the ultimate experience in deep relaxation and luxuriation in a meditative yoga practice. We use bolsters, blankets, blocks, straps, and sometimes chairs and walls as supportive yoga props. Restorative yoga is like making an energetic deposit into your personal health reserves bank account. All levels, ages, and abilities are welcome.
Gentle Somatic Yoga
Gentle Somatic Yoga is beginner-friendly and suitable for all levels. The practice is mostly slow-paced, low to the ground, and also includes standing practices. In this class, we explore somatic practices in yoga, which are gentle yet profoundly therapeutic forms of self care and self bodywork. Interoception, self awareness, and skill building are emphasised in these meditative movement classes. Developmental movement patterns, embodied awareness, experiential anatomy, and principles from the Yoga Fundamentals series classes are continuously explored and deepened during gentle somatic yoga classes.
